Welcome to the Jackpotonlinepokies.com guide to baccarat!
One game that doesn’t garner as much attention as some of its casino counterparts is the card game baccarat. In fact, when you visit an actual casino, it is unlikely that you would even see a baccarat table unless you specifically sought one out.
Baccarat is generally played behind closed doors, in private rooms, due to the high-rolling nature of this little known card game.
Maximum bets can end up in the tens of thousands of dollars and as a result of this it can be argued that baccarat is not a game for the faint of heart, or the weak of wallet.
The good news is you no longer have to take out a second mortgage on your home to try your hand at baccarat.
Online baccarat is attainable for people from all walks of life —not just the ones with deep pockets.
Baccarat is fairly straightforward, but it is important to note that there are three different variations, each with their own set of rules. The one thing they all have in common are their card values: 2-9 are worth their number value, tens, jacks, queens and kings are worth zero and aces are worth 1.
The most popular version of baccarat is known as punto banco and this version can be seen throughout North America, the United Kingdom and parts of Europe.
The outcome of punto banco is dependent on what cards the player is dealt and nothing else. Each player and the dealer are dealt two cards face up, and if any player scores an eight or a nine the game is done. However, if a player has points totaling between 0-5 they must draw a third card.
The third card rules vary, and include some though not all of the following:
If your card is a 9, 10, face card or Ace- the dealer will draw a third card if he has points from 0-3, but if his points are from 4-7 then he will stay.
If your card is a 6 or 7- the dealer will draw a third card if his points fall between 0-6, but he will stay if he has 7 points.
If your card is a 4 or 5- the dealer will draw a third card if his points fall between 0-5, but he will stay if he has 6-7 points.
After the third card round has played out, all the points are tallied, and whoever is closest to nine wins.
